Summer Enrichment is Tree-mendous

Students have had a fun couple of days learning about nature, especially the importance of trees.  We've talked about the different types of plants you see in our area, how insects are important, and looked for signs of animals in our area.  Students had a scavenger hunt in the school forest to collect objects that were used in their collages.  Today, they concentrated on trees by making a sturdy tree sculpture with marshmallows, tooth picks, and straws.  They learned and practiced weaving with an art project that weaves a tree on a paper plate.  Thursday, students will spend time on a scavenger hunt around the school forest pond.
