5TH AND 6TH GRADERS VISIT LAURENTIAN
Last week, the 5th and 6th graders, along with Mrs. Lindstrom, Mr. Tollefson and parent chaperones, spent three days at the Laurentian Environmental Center in Britt, MN. The program focuses on taking classroom learning outdoors through hands-on learning. Some of the activities included, Ojibwa Lifestyles, Northern Mammals, Outdoor Survival, Lacrosse, Meteorite hiking, taking a sauna, storytelling, and a scavenger hunt. The students ate Banik inside a tipi, built their own fires and shelter, and looked for evidence of mammals living in the outdoors.

YEARBOOK ADVANCE PURCHASE DEADLINE EXTENDED!The Polaris Yearbook for the 2011-2012 school year will be now be available for advance purchase through the 27th of January. The cost will be $50 for the full yearbook and $10 for the elementary edition.

Anyone wishing to reserve a yearbook will need to return the order form and full payment amount to the school office by the end of the school day Friday, January 27th. Extra yearbooks may be available but will not be guaranteed to anyone who does not reserve one.

LOST AND FOUNDIf you have lost any personal items, please check the lost and found in the nurse's office or in the garbage can next to the 2nd Grade classroom. Any items that have not been claimed will be donated to a local charity. This will be done monthly. We are no longer holding onto lost and found items until the end of the school year.
