Letter from Superintendent/Principal

May 10, 2019

Dear Parents:

We have a few weeks left in the 2018-2019 school year. Time flies when you are having fun! It has been a great year. Although it is has been filled with ups, the downs can’t be ignored. However, with creativity and problem solving, we can turn the negatives into positives.

A draft schedule was developed for next year in both the high school and the elementary. A set schedule will not be made until we get closer to the new school year in the fall.  However, there should be minimal changes between this draft and the final in the fall. Here are some things to look forward to:

  • Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades will not be combined.
  • Mr. Tollefson will teach the 3rd/4th grade classroom.
  • Ms. Lindstrom will teach the 5th/6th grade classroom.
  • The combined classes will stay combined for Science, Social Studies, Homeroom, and Specialist.
  • The combined classes will separate to each grade level for Reading and Math.
  • The Preschool schedule is still under development as we wait for families to return enrollment packets. The 3-year old program will be offered as a half-day program once a week. Based on the number of students in the program, we could offer a morning and an afternoon program. The 4-year old program will be offered three days a week. No mid-day bus runs will take place.
  • The high school will have the same number of electives for 2019-2020 as was offered for 2018-2019 by combining the 7th and 8th grade.

The yearbooks were distributed today. Wow! The students and the advisors did an amazing job. I think this is their best yet. There are a few extras. Contact Ms. Gillespie if you are interested in purchasing one.

The Academic Awards Ceremony will be held on Monday, May 13th at 6PM for the 7th-12th grade students. Our students have done a great job this year with their academics and we want to be sure to celebrate their accomplishments. New inductees to the National Honor Society will also take place at the ceremony.

Sincerely,

Dr. Rae Villebrun
