With recent discussions about school districts in Minnesota transitioning to a four-day school week, the Floodwood School Board seeks your input on this option.
We want to know how families, students, and staff feel about the possibility of adopting a four-day week at Floodwood in the future. Please note that no decision has been made; the district needs feedback from everyone to engage in informed conversations on this topic.
A four-day school week would offer a flexible schedule, meaning the fifth day off could be on a Monday, Friday, or another day during the week to accommodate holidays, and it may vary from week to week. The Wednesday early release schedule would be eliminated with a four-day school week. This fifth day would be used for staff meetings, training, or additional class preparation time.
The survey results will be discussed at the November 18th school board meeting at 6:00pm in the media center. All regular school board meetings are open to the public.
