The 9th graders were studying static electricity. Very fun class and all we needed were balloons, string, aluminum foil, and salt. Science rocks!!

Meet Floodwood School Board Member, Jaimen Davis!
“I am proud to be a Floodwood native and graduate of Floodwood School in 2016. Since 2017, I have been working for Northview Bank as a Customer Service Representative and Marketing Assistant, I have been serving on the Board of Directors for Floodwood Services and Training since 2017, and more recently, I am the Community Education and Communications Coordinator for the Floodwood School District since August 2019. Talk about a plate full! However, I love being able to serve my community in each way that I can!
I am the newest member of the Floodwood School Board, joining in January 2020. I enjoy serving my school and community by being on the school board. I have always believed that the staff here in Floodwood is always striving to provide the best education for the students in our district and I like being able to be apart of the success here!
What I have always loved about being from Floodwood is the strong sense of security and community. Whenever there is someone in need, the community is always there to help one another.
Something that most people might not know about me is that I love spending time with family, experiencing new places, and spending time with my dog, Cooper.”
Thank you, Jaimen for serving our students and community! We appreciate your commitment to helping Floodwood School prepare all students to succeed.

Meet Floodwood School Board Member, Tracy Hutchinson!
"I was born and raised in St. James which is located in Southern Minnesota. After I graduated High School, I attended the University of Minnesota where I received my BS in Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education.
I currently work for the Grand Rapids/Bigfork School District (ISD #318) as a Special Education Coordinator. My role in the district is to support educators (general education and special education) and the students they work with who have disabilities and delays. I have worked for ISD #318 for 12 years.
When I think of Floodwood, the first thing that comes to mind is relationships and support. I have enjoyed watching my three young children form relationships with all staff members in the school building, but also the students in the upper grades. The culture and community that has been created in the Floodwood School District has created a nurturing and safe environment for students to learn, but also to develop social skills/relationships that will carry them on later in life.
I have been serving on the Floodwood School Board for just about 2 years (1 term) now. The most important aspect about being on the board currently is making sure policies and procedures are meeting federal and state requirements and being implemented in our district. The bonus of being on the board is hearing first hand how great and creative teaching staff and other employees are that make this school unique."
Thank you, Tracy for serving our students and community! We appreciate your commitment to helping Floodwood School prepare all students to succeed.

Meet Floodwood School Board Member, Cory Suonvieri!
"I am proud to say I was raised in Floodwood. I graduated from Floodwood High School in 1989, married my High School Sweetheart, Burt Suonvieri and we raised three children who have all attended Floodwood School. I have been the Administrative Assistant for the City of Floodwood since 1996. My duties include work with the Floodwood Police Department and the Water Department.
I joined the Floodwood School Board in the spring of 2014. I enjoy serving the community by being on the board. I believe we have great administration, teachers and employees who all care about our students and our school.
What I love about Floodwood is the strong sense of community, the way we come together to help each other in need, and the fact that we live in a beautiful place!
Something that most people might not know about me is that I love to travel, experience new foods, new cultures, and learn about new places - but it is always good to come home!"
Thank you, Cory for serving our students and community! We appreciate your commitment to helping Floodwood School prepare all students to succeed.
