With a new school year, there are some changes to the Floodwood Schools Attendance processes. Two of the changes to note are Exempt Absences and Vacation Absence Notification.
An absence is considered exempt when the absence is accompanied by a note or letter on a physician's document excusing the student for medical or dental reasons. Exempt absences will not contribute to excused absence counts or total absence percentages and counts.
Family vacations absences submitted through the “Vacation Absence Notification” form, found on the district website, will allow staff to prepare work for students to stay current on assignments while gone from school on family vacations. These absences will then be excused.

A group of elementary baseball players attended the MN Twins baseball game yesterday!
FHS Freshman, Eli Fjeld, took advantage of the free welding camp that was offered through IASC. This camp took place at The Forge in Grand Rapids. He created two items at camp, a metal hanging rack and a metal/wood table.
